BioBlind almost since birth, Erwin Emory has spent most of his life playing to his strong points, namely:
- a level of perfect pitch a musician would envy
- an ability to concentrate on sound nearly to the exclusion of all else
- an aptitude for electronics, particularly where it has to do with communications technology, and
- a contempt for any sort of authority that gives him a hard time.
Add it all up, and what you get is the best sound man and phone phreak on the West Coast. (Also sixty-two counts of doing terribly illegal things to various pieces of telephone company property, and usually getting away with it.) He currently works for Martin Bishop, an old friend of his, in his security testing firm in California.
